I find Enerloops by Sanyo to be very good. Retains its charge for a very long time. Get a charger with a discharge function.
I'm looking for rechargeable battery as well as its charger and I was told that not rechargeable battery can't be used for flash. It is true? Any recomendation on rechargeable battery as well as its charger?
Thanks

a lot of photographers swear by the Eastgear Power EX (also known as MAHA) rechargeables. if you need your flash to perform for you, such as in events where you don't want to miss a shot while your batteries cycle, then get the MAHA 2700 AA batts.
Also get the intelligent MAHA charger (quite expensive, I paid $140 for an 8-bank charger). So far these batteries perform flawless for about one year, after which they start to show signs of slower cycling times. they still work fine, they just take longer to cycle. for events I bring fresh batts (I mark each set of 4 batteries so you can identify them) that are less than one year old, while older batts are used for static subjects.

some of the camera shops carry. MS is one of them.
I bought the wrong one, Power One, but charger has discharge function

For flash, I find alkalines more lasting and cycle faster.

Thanks guys also hearing something good about MAHA. How about imedion? if I'm not mistaken it is also from maha and also retains its charge for a very long time
yes, MAHA and Powerex for me. Used to like Sanyo, till their 2700 line couldn't hold for even a week
By the way, just sharing with you guys...
My friend borrowed my SB800 for an event and he was using Sanyo 2700. The batteries sort of leak inside. My friend spend about $300 getting it repaired.

Two thumbs up for PowerEx from me too.
Maybe my luck then, was using those Sanyo 1800 on a Sickma Flash then.
Will probably try the new PowerEX on my SB800 before I comment further.

Powerex 2700. No complains. Came with the Maha 8 cell charger. Fast, hold charge. The Maha charger's LCD died on me before though, luckily it was still within warranty so went to change one brand new one.
Eastgear moved to somewhere near where Plantas Aquaticas used to be.
Sanyo 2500. Fail. Slow to charge, couldn't hold charge till I read on clubsnap that they had production problem with the first few batches. Took the trouble to go their office to get them replaced. After that, it was ok for a while but the problem came back. Threw out half of them already because it discharges itself overnight.

That is the one I am considering too, the Maha charger that came with the batteries, mind PMing me the price? RRP shows $145 or something (can't remember).
I got another Maha charger, MH-C401FS, that died on me after 5-6 years of operation, I suspect is the power adapter "burnt", anyone know if they sell it separately?

choy, you getting old la. Plantas was 1 junction down the road. ICA is 3 junctions up the opposite direction.
I think Maha has a fancy new 4-cell model that came out, so the 801's price could have dropped a bit. I can't remember how much I got it then.
I have the 401 too. CMI. Slow and hot.

harlo, eastgear is near ICA. plantas is near the stadium. you sure you went to the right shop anot?s
