Here's my night shot of Cardinal feasting:
YouTube - Night shot of Sulawesi Shrimp eating behaviour
Hi all, I just bought 5 of them (dark red ones with yellow lines) from colorful. Just can't resist especially price has dropped much. Putting them into my office 1.5ft tank which has been cycled for 4 months and with nana, spiky moss and a few java fern. there is a 11w light but no CO2. I'm not sure of the parameters as I did not measure. But I'm using a tiny 1 cm layer of GEX soil. I think the PH should be around 6.8-7, KH 1-2, GH 2 (Typical parameter for SG water).
My only bee shrimp has survived for 4 months since the tank started and grown pretty big now. Hope the sulawesi shrimps are ok with the water, else, I will not buy anymore from now on.
Cheers!

That is the easy way to see females...
Take a look...
Guess main reason why prices are dropping could be the fact that few people can keep them alive.. and thus interest is not as great as when it first appear.
Hopefully the lower price will not affect people willingness to dedicate specialised tank to house them...
By the way.. the last count was over 40 types of shrimps from the lakes in sulawesi...
There is one named 4 seasons... it's able to change into 4 colours.. have seen them but did not buy as the asking price is still exorbitant!

Here are some more shrimps from sula. Names given are trade names.. think too many of them, most are without scientific names.

Nice collection. !
Nice shots there joydiv.
I wonder any chances that these wild shrimps will cross breed in captivity..
Hmm. how do you know they won't? Have you kept the different species together and bred them successfully before?
According to some shops, breeders and other forumers. I may be wrong though, because it is not through my personal experience
fascinating read...
i have to admit, these shrimps are sorely tempting me. But i dare not venture into them until i can be confident of providing good care for them.

Think interest in these shrimps has died down... Anyone still have them?
Currently still have a few species in my tank.
