I think you can buy it locally. Not that difficult to get these days.
For other discussion boards...try www.bettabite.com. I think there is another foreign site call Ultimate betta. Do a check on the other threads on the same species.
Cheers,
Hi all,
I'll like to know if there are any forums where discussions on B. Macrostoma can be found? Also, is there any online websites or contacts you know who are willing to send one pair of wild B. Macrostoma to Singapore? Thanks!

Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
you can also check out http://www.ibc-smp.org. It's a foreign site though.
As for wild macrostoma, it is available locally at Biotope and C328 on occassion. I believe C328 is able to order it on demand for you (after CNY though, according to the uncle when I asked him about ordering wild bettas yesterday evening)
Thanks for the websites, I'm still doing a lot of reading and research about this amazing beauty!! Hope to see them in my tank one fine day
Yixiang, is C328 able to order wild specimens? The one in the shop now is a bred specimen.

i don't think the 2 tanks in your toilet are large enough to keep/breed this species of betta though
they're both 2 footers....not enough?
Any comments on bred and wild macs? I'm not sure whats the difference except in price.

Not enough. Many advised me to get bigger tanks and cooler temperatures. Go searching around you'll see those who successfully spawned have big tanks. But who knows? I'm still trying to breed by changing other parameters.
Differences between wild and tank bred should be similiar to Apistogramma. For example wilds very particular about food, better colouration etc.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
True, but i've read that some breeders are using 18" cube tanks for breeding....
Looking at the limited space I have, don't think I can have a much bigger tank for a pair...
Let me try out a pair in a 2footer, not necessary for breding but to view their exceptional beauty!!

That is only a few out of many people. Not everyone is so lucky to get such pair. There are hundreds or many thousands more unsuccessful atempts in smaller tanks that that don't post on internet. To be safe, use big tanks because it's like striking 4D if u use small tanks. However 18" cube tank is quite big as compared to normal 2ft tank in the market. If your 2footer is a 2ft cube, then it should be ok.
If you are on budget, let me know. I have bigger tanks to give to you next month but you got to provide your own transport.

hi Chee Wei, I do agree with you totally...always better to use bigger tanks.
because of space constraints, I am limited to using only the standard 2 feet tanks
Anyway, I have decided to go for a wild pair of B. Albimarginata

You may consider b. channoides also. They are more colourful than b. albimarginata. I have a friend who bred them in small 'GUPPY' tanks.

Is there any other forums with wild betta discussions?
It seems that the SG betta club site is down?
Can someone pm me the price for B channoides and B albimarginata? thanks!
