Simon,
I think waking up at 6+ was worth it, those pictures are drop dead gorgeous.
Liked the bulls eye pattern of the Blue Pansy, but the colors of the Painted Jezebel is really striking.
Considering that the weather for the last few days was kind of wet, we took a gamble waking up at 6+ today. Very enjoyable even though it rained

There are times when I come home empty-handed, but that's one of the joy of field photography, expect the unexpected and hope the butterfly fairy is with me on every trip
There are much nicer/colorful ones in our nature reserves and I truly hope people do appreciate these beauties
I think the two vertical format ones don't work. the rest are

choy, I can reframe the dronefly :P, the crab spider I have plenty in landscape
benny, luckily you didn't join us, you will be complaining all the way about the rain , fortunately there was a hut, so everytime it drizzles we took shelter and then continue shooting after the rain passed
Jeff, very addictive right? don't worry, I wouldn't talk to you and make you spend more money
but you already have the dronefly in landscape what?

Wow, nice shots Simon. I agree with Choy that the crab spider in vertical does not look as nice. But I like the drone fly on vertical. Looks like it just emerges from the flower or something. Nice! Now I really regret not going. Darn!

you defintely want a longer macro , a shuttle release will help you when you using your tripod setup. Let's not get into the macro flash and flash cord until you need it is necessary
budak,
very nice shots, wish you could come along for our shoot. Can learn a thing or 2 from you.
benetay,
wow, NICE. I was trying to shoot a caterpillar during the weekend but all shots turn out horrible.
Jeff, I am still sleeping and dreaming of the 180.......................
Simon, the power of PS, with the smoother background, the focus now is all on the blue pansy.
