It was a sunny and warm day at Sime forest, the usual weekend crowd visiting the tree top walk. Luckily, our objective wasn't near that area and it was quite peaceful. Haven't had so much fun shooting since my accident and I also experience why I have phobia proning on the ground till I got the reminder today *OUCH* both my elbows and knee is still sore, but it was worth the pain.

I also got back my focusing, it was the user's fault afterall *LOL*

Solid pictures! Seems like you got the 5 bar swordtail again. Shame for not being able to make it.
Elbows and kneecaps suffer the most during a butterfly session. Take good care of them.

Just a question, is the banded imperial a very common butterfly?

Luckily a walk near the park ease the itch. Saw some beautiful butts too.
    Cheers!

the branded imperials are forest butterflies, they are common when in season.

too bad, you didn't join us, or else you will be a ball of a time shooting these subjects. Many times, I just relax around not wanting to prone for the shot.

    Simon,
Don't rub it in, you know I got to work
Anyway, beautifully shot. The close up of the blue jay is razor sharp!
And the five bar sword tail is so beautiful.
I noticed that some of the butts feasting on the sand. Food there?

I read from the BDF(Butterfly discussion Forum) that there is another place where the 5 bar swordtail can be found near bukit panjang. Might be visiting it to recce over the next week or so.

I did saw a group of banded imperial today during high noon & other mating butterfly.

Simon don't worry, i will try to find alternative place, not so far from home to shoot.

I still need to convince myself to create the 'B' bait.

    Cheers!

Yes i've narrowed down the search, actually i got 2 place in mind which i believe they might be around. There isn't anywhere else, this area is just too small for a secret to stay hidden.

Problem is that it's too far away from you when Sime forest is too far from me.

Maybe tomorrow morning i take a short walk over there to have a look. It will be much easier to shoot in future if it's so near.

Mind if i post some of the shoots taken today while having a short walk with my gf?

    Cheers!

    Simon,
Pleaseeeeee organize one this weekend. I want one that need to go hiking into the forest where I can get myself wet and dirty. Seriously, been itching to get into nature trails ever since I came back from Penang.

No. Wet and dirty's not quite my idea of weekend fun. At least not when I'm still sick.
