Unfortunately, there is no way we can find ADA amazonia aquasoil here, or else your Ludwigia sp aka red tai yang cao will become bloody red.

Many Hong Kongers from www.aqugrass.com had encountered great success in growing demanding plant such as Tonina sp (Normal Tai Yang Cao), Tonina fluviatilis (Broad leafed Tai Yang Cao), Eriocaulaceae sp (Narrow leafed Tai Yang Cao) and so on with ADA amazonia aquasoil as the soil provide acidic substrate which is required by the plants above.

A tank full of demanding plants from Taiwanese hobbyist nickname "Tonina",his website

There are discussion about the tank in the forum(picture section) of www.aqugrass.com as well, please check it out.(In chinese)

In a few weeks time i'll transfer my tonina red type into a 50cm tank with ADA amanzon soil added with 2bags of JBL base fert. Hope to have really bloody red tonina =)

Alfa do you have any broad leave tonina i feel like giving it a try, so far i have 3 types of tonina and they're growing well in my tank and courtesy of TEO for the Xue hua which aslo thrive in my 2ft cube tank.

Simon your red tonina still not red enough guess u need to pump in more fert.
    this is red.
    Cheers!

I got 2 stalk of this red Tai Yang plant from Teo some 4 weeks ago. It has grown like hell and despite me cutting it 1 time, they are still shooting for the sky. One of the remaining stalk (the one I cut) actually have a new shoot coming out but the other one I think may be a gone case (and I think I cut it too low). Do you guys have the same experience of this plant shooting very rapidly? I think mine are quite red.

BTW, do you know why this plant is expensive?

I got a few stalks and none of them is dying on me, though
the growth are all different. I'm propagating them..

the reason y they r expensive, simply because they r not
    common found 'yet'
