    Hi guys,

Here's a documentary on aquarium trade in the Peruvian Amazonia. Can see many interesting fishes inside, including some very impressive plecos.

Wow.... i am awed by the documentary. Yesterday night there was also a documentary on animal planet on The amazon river. Showed Rio Xingu and many more. Some scenes includes the camen using their body to slam into the water to fish arrowanas for food. Another scene showed a school of Discus. Theres also a tetra that jumps out of water to lay the eggs on the leaves...

Benny, you guys got to make a documentary when you head over there man.

The splashing tetra is one of the Copella sp. Think is C.arnoldi.
But think the most amazing is the shot of the school of wild green discus.

Yeap, C. arnoldi, known as splashing tetras because they splash the water on the eggs to make sure they don't dry up after laying them on the leaves.

Eugene, think you could be watching this program.

Thanks for the link Benny. Interesting.

Probably Taiwanese could learn from them by eating that black pleco. Since they are destroying the diversity of their sea.

Plecos seems like quite a staple food over there. Perhaps we will get to try it. It's interesting to see prize aquarium fauna as source of food in their countries of origin.

I do know of people keeping marble goby (Soon Hock) as pets. Here, we just steam them.

Wow, eating the fish in my tank?!?!? How dare you!

Didn't I read somewhere the Danio margaritatus (celestial pearl danio) is actually some source of food in Myanmar?

Eugene, thanks for the information, will keep a lookout for that program then.
