    What kind of shrimp are you refering to? I would have say air pump is a must for shrimp(yamato?)-only tank. You need to throw in some moss for them to feast on. Filter can be opt out if you change water regularly. I have a small quarantine tank with some yamatos in such setting. A planted tank will be a better enviroment for them(yamato). Hope I answer your question.

    Perhaps you should describe in more detail the setup you intend, so that we may better understand and answer your questions. For example, do you intend to put in plants, what kind of plants, lighting, CO2, etc.

    Hi all, hope you don't mind i ask a related qns here.

    I am trying to set up a 1.5ft in my cubicle. Office is cold and i think the temperature will be between 23-25. 36W PL. Is there any problem keeping the following plants without injection of co2?

    1. crypto balansae
    2. crypto sp. (not sure, got from teo)
    3. java moss.
    4. riccia.
    5. hair grass.

    Intending to put ard 10 harlequin, 2 bumblebee goby, 2 oto and probably 2 wood shrimps.

    thinking of turning my 2ft into a shrimp tank. cherry shrimps and bee shrimps. will be adding green algae , java moss on driftwood and also java fern next to the wood. just wana know if a pump is neccesary... am i missing out on anything ? i wont be adding any fishes at all...
