    Hi all

Just want to do a check on the color space set in your camera.

May I know what is the color space set in yours? My D3 is set at SRGB.

set to aRGB, its gamut is much much wider. and keep this throughout your post processing until just before you output to JPEG (convert to 8-bit and sRGB). this is because all the dumb renderers on Windows could not render aRGB correctly and your image will look weird, with the exception of Safari.

Why is this so? When i'm using safari the pictures look just a tad better. Or does it look slightly saturated?
    Cheers!

On windows, the various browsers and even irfanview uses the standard windows renderer (I suspect) and all the colours come out wrong if your JPEG is encoded with aRGB colour space. Only Safari gets it right.

Note this is ONLY if you JPEG is assigned with aRGB colour space.

So are you saying that I should set Adobe RGB 1998 in both my D3 and PS3?

And convert SRGB before I change from raw to JPEG in PS?

set aRGB in your camera. your PS3 should be set to "use embedded profile".

All along i'm using sRGB . Okay set it to aRGB. So when i'm using PS, i need to use the profile from the camera so what i see from the camera will look similar on the pc screen?

Thanks Jeffery for asking such a question if not i will always be kept in the dark.

The 'use embedded profile' is also called 'preserve embedded profiles' right? It's in the color management policies section right? I cannot find "use embedded profile".

something like that. I also used sRGB until recently being advised by pro-photogs.
