Betta akarensis
A river near Sibu
Found Crypt. striolata in a stream:
Unidentified species of plant found at water edge, probably an aroid.....I tied it to a driftwood, hope it can grow well in my aquarium.
During the Chinese New Year, I went to Sibu to visit my friends. On the second day, I went to northern Sibu to explore. It was a bad day to look for fish as water level was too high & raining almost everyday! The low lying areas of Sibu were flooded!
When the rain stopped for a few hours on the second day, I found an interesting place. Blackwater rivers & swamps are everywhere! In this short trip, I only collected 3 Parosphromenus allani, 1 Betta brownorum & 1 Betta akarensis. This is my first time caught Betta brownorum in Sibu. Unfortunately, my Paros. didn't make it.....only that 2 Betta survived & now swimming happily in my aquarium.
Going to rain....... Rainy season is not over yet!
Found a new location: the habitat of Paros. & Betta :
Parosphromenus allani in my net. This fish is so abundantly in Sibu.
One & only Betta brownorum that I ever found in Sibu!

Feel want to swim but at that time I need to rush back home before dark, so I took a few shots & left.
