    Hi all,

I'm planning to start a nano tank with hang on filter, GEX soil and without CO2.

It is going to be rockscape kind of design with moss.

Am wondering what foreground (carpet) plant is suitable for this type of setup? thinking of Glosso but not sure if it can grow without CO2. Japanese Hair grass?

    Thanks.

is it going to be an iwagumi scape? actually using moss tied to small pebbles or steel mesh is pretty nice and low maintenance. im not very sure whether glosso will grow nicely and compact without CO2, but most probably it will grow.

Moss itself can form nice foreground plant. If not, tenellus will also grow nice in your setup.

Alright, will try moss on foreground and Jap HC on bg.

How to ground the moss? tie it to wire mesh or wood?

Where can i get Jap HC? will be going to ah pek at pasir ris farm tomorrow. They should have moss at good price but not sure if they have Jap HC.

    Thanks.

You can tie your moss to wire meshes using fishing lines and let them grow out to achieve a lawn effect.

HC isnt a beginner's plant, might want to stick with jap hairgrass, it grows well in both a low tech tank without co2 as well as 1 with pressurised co2.

There is someone in B/S selling several palmful of Jap hairgrass, might want to meet up with him/her in admirity to collect them.
