Don't do anything different. Just watch them to see how they're handling it. If the male was well conditioned before the spawning he'll spit the fry out in a few days.
Hi guys, i must say that my experience having a pair of Macrostoma is like going on a roller coaster ride. Two days after i purchased my Macrostoma from biotope, the female jumped out of the tank despite having netting over the tank. Was lucky enough to find a new female for the male, now that they've been together for a month, they've spawned. I was lucky enough to catch the female dropping the eggs off and the male collecting them in his mouth.
Im actually quite concerned about what are the precautions i should take note of (eg. should i be taking the female out of the tank ). Hope that someone with experience or have read about useful information can share them with me. Thanks alot !

after the male releases the fry, you should take them both out , and put in seperate tanks, the male will be very skinny at this piont, you don't want them to breed again or you will killl the male, feed him as much live food as possible for 2 to 3 weeks before putting them together again. good luck with your brood. btw you got any pictures of them?
