Ok, let me try to add some pictures to the thread. Also i will upload alternative and easier routes to the shops.

    Pau Pau aquarium (Shinjuku branch)
If you are coming from Shinjuku station. Head for EXIT E2

Once reach EXIT E2. Just take the stairs up.

You will see Pau Pau after the stairs

EXIT E2 also belongs to Shinjuku-sanchome station. This is the station next to Shinjuku station. You can actually walk from Shinjuku station to Shinjuku-sanchome station via the underground passages. They are not very far apart. Picture below is the E2 exit on ground level and next to it you see Paupau aqua garden signs.

Sign telling you shop is at the basement

    Ginza Area

    Pau Pau Aquarium (Ginza Branch)
You need to find the KABUKI-ZA THEATER ("kabuki house" as ranmasatome puts). Once you alight from Ginza station, there are 2 exits that can reach KABUKI-ZA THEATER. EXIT A6 is under renovation so i will explain using EXIT A5. Both leads you very close to the theater.

Once reach EXIT A5. Go up the stairs.

The moment you come out of EXIT A5. KABUKI-ZA THEATER is just right infront of you. EXIT A6 is just the next exit ahead of EXIT A5 (which brings you even closer to the theater).

    This is KABUKI-ZA THEATER

    ALTERNATIVE ROUTE TO KABUKI-ZA THEATER
Head towards Higashi-ginza station and look for EXIT 3. Once again, you can walk from Ginza station to Higashi-ginza station via the underground passages since they are linked.

The moment you pop out of the station EXIT 3, you will be right where KABUKI_ZA THEATER is.

No matter Ginza station or Higashi-ginza station you alight from. You will want to go where the theater is. (Must snap some pictures mah!!!)

Walk along the path down and you will see Bank 77 not far from the theater.

Infront of the bank is this cross junction. Cross over to the opposite side of the road.

You will see a starbucks cafe.

Further down the path is the Nissan gallery.

Paupau aqua garden is just right infront of the fire truck. (blue sign thats says tropical fish)

    An Aquarium (Ginza)

An aquarium is the simplest to go to. Once exit Ginza station. Look for EXIT A3.

Once you exit A3. The clock tower is just behind you.

Matsuzakaya building is just right infront of you along the exit.

Once enter the building, head for the lift on the left side and go to the roof (R level) and An aquarium will be there. Thats all i have. I hope this will prove useful for first timers to these Tokyo LFS.

Hi guys, I visited aquatic forest (very nice planted tanks and plants) and pau pau aquarium (shinjuku) yesterday. Planning to go ginza to visit pau pau (is it almost the same as the one in shinjuku? will skip to save the effort if so..) and AN aquarium.

Re: Fish and shopping in Tokyo

You must go to the Pau Pau at Ginza. Its much much larger then the one at Shinjuku. More fishes and stuffs to see. I love the reptiles section. All those poison arrow frogs, rare gecko, lizards and snakes are a must to see! Previously, they have the thorny devil and the blue tongue in stock while i was there! But see only hor, don't buy, its illegal to keep them here.

Did not managed to visit AN as I was there at 8pm and it closed at 7.30pm Will visit Ginza Pau Pau and AN again tomorrow. I saw the green gecko at pau pau shinjuku very tempted to buy. Will it survive over the plane trip and in singapore weather?

hey bro O2bubble, surviving the trip and weather here is one thing.
getting a hefty fine/record by AVA is another, so please think twice before you make any rash decision.

Thanks to bro Shadow, for guiding me to this thread. Am heading there in December, should have some days freed up to go LFS walking. Thanks for the detailed write-up and pics, bro Ranmasatome. Are you still in tokyo area?

This seems to be a different shop. The original post is in a shopping centre in ginza.

Can anyone read Japanese and let me know where the shop in the website is?

Re: Fish and shopping in Tokyo

Due to work (being posted oversea), I am away from fish keeping for abt close 2yrs+ now.
However the passion for fish/planted tanks are still alive and burning.
I will be visiting Tokyo and hope to visit some of the shops featured here,

I am especially interested in South East Asian fishes like danios, rasboras and wild bettas.

Re: Fish and shopping in Tokyo

Was in Tokyo a couple of weeks back and followed the directions in this thread. Awesome stuff. Managed to check out Aquaforest and Pau Pau aquarium in Shinjuku, and Pau Pau aquarium in Ginza. An Aquarium is no longer there as the whole building is being renovated.

I also visited a couple of other smaller LFS in Tokyo, but I must say you'll be set if you visit those 3 places. AquaForest and
Pau Pau aquarium in Ginza are a must go. Great display tanks and lots to see.

I wasn't expecting ADA stuff to be much cheaper than what we get in Singapore, but was pleasantly surprised that most items were significantly cheaper. Some items where up to SG$150 cheaper in Tokyo. I went crazy and got most of my upcoming ADA set up there.

Had been to Pau Pau Aqua Garden, Ginza about a week back. Nice place and stocks the entire ADA equipment collection. They do not offer discount on any of their products. But yes, the prices are cheaper than singapore prices. I can post prices of items picked up if any one is interested.

Re: Fish and shopping in Tokyo

No need to share, just go to the ADA website, the price was mention there, you just need to add 8% tax on top of it. The rest is common sense, I mean you don't want to buy soil or tank even though it is cheaper.
