For many us, its rather troublesome to go at such lengths to Soxal. By the time we get there its almost the same as getting our tanks filled up in LFS... However, at Soxal the good thing is they do checks for you such that your old tanks dun become torpedos in the house.

David - that's a nice idea though but might be troubling you? Cos I do hope to have my tank checked properly and not risking it to turn into a hazard at home... Hmm keep us informed, if its feasible for checks and topping up at Soxal.

For those who intend to refill at Soxal, please make sure your cylinder is a DOT certified one. You can see the DOT stamp, together with the test dates ,etc on your cylinder.

BTW, DOT is an international standard for testing of gas cylinders tanks.

Those non DOT certified cylinders, such as the Taiwanese UP brand & such, will be rejected. They will not even test the tank.

Another place where I usually go for refill is at :

    Sealico Trading Pte Ltd
    Block 6001 Ang Mo Kio
    Industrial Pack 3, #01-568
    Tel. 4829811
    Ask to speak to Jenny.

It is just situated along the row of factory shophouses behind Motorola.

For those without transport & has huge & heavy tanks, transportation can be arranged for them to pick up the tank & send back to you later.

I usually send my tank in the morning, & collect it end of the day.

Pricewise, they charge $15 for a 2l to 5l range tank.
Transport charge from $5 to $10. Need to check with them.

hi UWW.....no its no problem for me to send it down (coz i have to send my own)...the really problem is collecting and collection .......and who ever wants me to send may need a spare tank......the only good thing is that it is super good price to fill at Soxal......

As for the DOT thing...i think it is the american test standard thingy ....pretty much like brake oil ...dot 3 ...dot 4...on some cylinder is BAR.....

Ectan...do they do testing and vacuming of the cylinder? though the price is higher than Soxal...the location is much better.

For those that do not want to buy your own cylinder, you can "rent" it from soxal. I think it's 20cents/day or something like that.

I would also caution against topping up at soxal as they use industrial grade CO2 which contain impurities like CO, SO2, NOx which are poisonious to your fishes, they are also very soluable in the water as well. Maybe you try already no problem but you can never tell one day you suay suay get one cylinder that has more CO (process at Soxal went haywire) then your fish all marti []
