Just came back from TB Ben at Tiong Bahru. Saw a tank of Sulawesi shrimps. I saw 3 types – Tiwot Beauty, Mantano Blue + Red Blossom.

Looks great and healthy. Definitely going back to grab some when my tank is ready Good deal.

Seems the price is coming down really fast...
I was at ben's yesterday and he had quite a few of them and at least 3 or 4 kinds.
But I ended up getting sakura's instead.

Hi aquanatix, sorry didn't pay attention to other fish, but I am sure they have some.

Was just there to buy some sand, and had chatted with Ben. Apparently he kept his with ADA soil and a chiller/fan (so water is at least cool). He said his at home is breeding although these shrimps came from a volcano lake.

Yup, the price is coming down fast.

That's something totally opposite from their natural environment. Hmm... I don't want go to into an argument on this, but I would not recommend those parameters for someone keeping them for the first time.

As these are wild shrimp, those who are new to them, would do well to replicate the natural environment, i.e. pH above 7.5 and temperature above 26 C.

If anyone really wants to try ADA soil and low temperature, then I would suggest to try with a couple and see if they acclimitise well for about a month or so (IMHO, a week isn't enough).
