Lovely, Erik. But how did you ward off the algae?
really lovely toshi
woooow!
Very very nice..What fish you got in there exactly? And how come it seems so algae-free? And one more question..what lighting you got?
Thanks,
James

Erik, I always love your tanks! This is a nice low-maintenance tank. Cheers!

Fantastic toshi, the only american I know who can really aquascape so far. Really really cool. Ironic, I was thinking this morning how come no one set up planted tanks without having tetras in mind.

Many thanks for the kind comments guys! Mez, I use a combination of 2-20w fluorescents (normal output), plus 2-15w compact fluorescents (type-A: these screw into incandescent fixtures, and are rated at 6500k... I'm sure you guys probably have these in SG).
As far as algae goes, there are no real dedicated algae eaters. The tank holds Rasbora hengeli, Corydoras pygmaeus, and Puntius oligolepis. I generally "manage" algae via nutrient dosing + control.
Have a great weekend,

Toshi,
Isn't that the tank you submitted for AGA contest? Anyway, I really like it. Very nice.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
toshi.. is that a carpet of anubias nana?!
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
Wow! this is so simple and cool. Do you have a theme for this aquaspace? Like it very much

Maybe, but i am in England, UK!
Are these type-A compact flourescents available commonly? And how much did you pay for them if you dont mind me asking?
Thanks,
James

The bulbs are pretty common here; sometimes they're more difficult to find @ 6500k. These are the specific type/brand I use: [http://www.maxlite.com/PDF's/economax.pdf]. The bulbs are about $7 US each.
Stormhawk: the carpet plant there is Marsilea...
Vinz: yes, the same tank - though somehow the photo quality became quite diminished at the AGA site...

I take my hat off. Very nicely done... I'm impressed that its so algae free... Not to mention that its just a beautiful to look at! Mebbe you could provide some details as to what sort of ferts and supplements you are using in the tank?----------------
