    1st time using a DSLR, try some shots with of my galaxy rasboras.
    Hope can give me some advices.

    I personal feel that the shots are more of an overall shot with the galaxy in them, there is not much focus on the fishes, but just a complement of the entire shot.

    I have 50 pieces in my 4ft and I never got a chance to photography them :P

    I feel the focus not on the fish too, more on the plants.
    These small little fishes are hard to shoot, I got a few pieces at home,
    but still couldn't get any nice shots.

    yes plenty of practice is good.
    maybe try a slightly bigger and slower fish
    and get real close
