Hi guys, I have a 2ft planted tank with Eheim 2224 system and weekly or 2 times a week 30% water change.

I have about 20 cherry shrimps & 20 malayan shrimps & 2 ottos and 40 cardinal tetras. Would like to add 1 SAE & a pair of Rams. Is it okay and where can I get nice rams?

If need be, I can always reduce the number of tetras.

Seems like the bio load is at its edge or even over the board....may need to reduce or you might well face with algae problems.

sze, u sure have alot of cardinal for a 2ft... i would say a grp of 8-10 for a 2ft is acceptable... beware not to overload yr fishstock, algae problems always arise from it

Rams and shrimps sure can live together..I had them in my tank..no problems. Just make sure you have hiding places for the shrimps just in case the need arises.

Food for discus!!!!! Stop!!!! If that is the only solution..I think its better to let the cardinals remain in the 2ft.

Rams are possibly dangerous to cherry shrimps. Due to the small size, they are potential food sources to the rams.

But so far, I've not heard of or seen discus chasing cardinals for food... As a shoal, most tetras do match discus for very compatible tank mates....

As for Rams, unless they are yamatos and of a certain size... else try not to...
