which do you have? 4 colour, green tiger, red tiger?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

The four colour lotus produce plantlets growing on the leaves, for the green tiger lotus i'm not very sure about it but it's in the form of rhrizone
    Cheers!

The red and green tiger lotus produces side shoots. Don't what induces it though. A rich substrate definitely helps.

If that is your plant, it's still too small to propogate.

You can still grow another plant from it when it's bigger, but you have to induce it somehow to grow a baby plant. I think the best way is to stick in 2 or 3 root ferts into the substrate around it.

Mine produces baby plants now and then, but thru no deliberate effort on my part so I can't be sure.

for green lotus (and probably the red one), side shoots can be forced, trim off anything that goes past 1/2 your tank height. and the plant will be forced to grow sideways..

for nyphaea micrantha (4 color) any leaf cut and placed floating or in substrate will start growing roots. (yeap, I'm experimenting and I see roots forming at the point where the leaf and stalk meet.

For L. micrantha, I leave the leaf where it is. They will still sprout new plants from the leaves.

I find that the parent leaf starts to decay. Is everybody else experiencing the same thing?

when i bought mine from Heisenberg (near Rainbow), the aunty thought me to pluck away all existing leaves before planting it...

she says the leaves will rot away anyway...

it was such a waste to pluck away all the leaves of a small $12 plant, so naturally i planted my red lotus in its entirety... and true enough the existing leaves started to rot away but new leaves quickly replaced the old ones...
