    i have a 1.5 ft Shrimp tank with 4 white cloud mountain minnow, 3 yellow shrimps, 8 x crs, 3 sakura, 3 orange shrimps.
    But the water perimeters seemed weird...
    Nitrate- 0
    ammonia - 0.3 mg
    Ph 5.8 (yesterdays reading was 6.5)

    o.O any advise?

    do you have CO2 running? CO2 lowers the pH.

    how long has the tank been running? did any inhabitant die? If its a new tank it might not have been properly cycled yet.

    PH drops has nothing to do with inhabitant dying or whether the tank is properly cycled.

    hmm i dont have the kh tester..
    i heard that it was perhaps due to the ada soil im using.(its ph6)
    thus i did a water change hope all goes well=D

    yes ada soil have PH buffering capabilities. So no worries, but low PH is causing some shell erosion on some of my nerite snails shells, so i will be using sechem prime + equilibrium this weekend for water change.
