Is it for office setup?
Can try a simple setup of Christmas moss (or other moss) with Cherry Shrimps. Can do without substrate, CO2 or filtration. Other plants can consider Anubias or Java Ferns.
Here are the conditions
- minimum maintenance
- no substrate
- a bit of fast growing hardy plants
- no feeding on weekends
Here are some faunas I shortlisted
- 2-3 small hardy fish eg guppies
- 4-6 dwarf shrimps eg cherries
- 1 betta
- 1 crayfish
Are there any more choices I can consider beside the 4?
Are there any pointers I have to take note with such a basic setup?
Thank you.

Juggler's tanks
ya was thinking of moss or some hardy floating plants, maybe hornwort
my container's height is less than 10cm so quite restricted for plants selection
thanks

for such a shallow container, i'd recommend going with shrimp. fish won't have space to swim and it'd not be a very comfortable home for them. i always feel sad when i see the bettas in LFS house in small shallow containers
yup decided to buy a crayfish, with an air pump
maybe some stones and hornwort
thanks
Uhm, crayfish?!? The crayfish we have in our LFS grows BIG. To my knowledge, dwarf crayfish has never reached our shores before. So you may need some rethinking.
you can try some original endlers, brightly colored and small....no need air pump also can

heres the bowl...do you think 2 crayfish is overcrowded?
how to prevent them from "fighting"
if cant, i will stick to 1 first
thanks
Yes, too small, even for one crayfish.
If you insist, then make sure the guy has a place to hide.
My choice would have been a common fighting fish (because they have nice colours, are active, hardy and do not require air pump (noise + vibration)). A small drift wood in the middle with Anubias or Java fern.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
not even 1 crayfish?
i scare buy 1 he lonely
cant really put "tall" plants as height is less than 10cm
don't really fancy fighting fish hee
thank you
I think cherry shrimp (you can have 2 or even 3 if you like) + a drift twig and some moss would do well in there.
Crayfish are Oscar the grouch with pincers.
Run a sponge filter with the airpump. The open black sponge type can be cut to size.Hide it with small driftwood and moss/fern/nana. A couple of wild guppies or endlers and shrimp should be ok.
Thats a very small bowl! I would worry for the welfare of any animal residing inside. Yes a crayfish would do badly, they are big eaters and produces alot of waste. You could propably keep a crayfish inside and feed it very very "minimally" but i wouldn't call that an aquarium, more like how they are kept in lfs. I think a betta would do better in such a bowl.
