I suspect my apisto is having pop-eye. just found out this morning.

Is there any way to cure this? Is methylene blue effective?

Do check out the sticky thread titled Freshwater/Tropical Fish diseases above. I believe a treatment of Melafix+Primafix might help, though I haven't had any success with treating pop eye in Apistos.

Pop-eye is a symtom of an underlying disease rather than a disease itself. Melafix used together with Pirmafix can likely target a broad range of problems. Also Apistos are sensitive fishes and suffer from poor water conditions easily.

When using medication it is best to seperate the fish for treatment. If you have plants in your main tank they may affect the dosage. Also make sure the treatment tank/container is well aerated.

Pop-eye is also a symptom of unfavorable water conditions, sort of like a bacteria parasite existing in your water column. Isolate the affected fauna while adding the medication suggested by fellow bros... and condition the water in your main tank.
