2 deaths in my 4 month old tank

Hi

Need help in assessing the situation.
Just last week, 2 of my fish died( 1 SAE and 1 torpedo) The only symptom I noticed is restlessness and lack of appetite. Not visable wound or sunken stomach or anything. The colouration of these fish still quite vibrant.

So far all other fishes still ok. Suspect internal parasite.bacteria. I am worried that more death will occur and thinking of light salt treatment in the main tank. Will it affect the plants?

My bioload
9 Cardinals tetras
11 Rasboras Espei
4xtorpedoes Puntius Densonii(left 3 now).
5 SAE ( left 4 now)
3 Aldofi Cory
3 Oto
10 Yamatos.
in a 3ft tank.

Could be a case of worm infestation or flukes.

Are you refering to your 2ft tanks ? I ruled out 1ft due to the amount of fauna you have.

It my 3 feet tank. Mysterious death of the 2 fishes but I am not sure if it is related.
PH measured at 6.6-6.8
KH at 4.0
Ammonia 0 ppm

No symptoms only thing is fish is lethargic and not feeding. Suspect is internal bacteria. Thinking of adding some amount of salt but have not acted cause concern about plants and cory.

Usually adding salt does to some extent affect your plants. Have to look at your fishes carefully, the food you are feeding, and the water parameters before you add them to your main tank.

Mostly frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp and Hikari Micro pellets.

If you are worried, stick with just hikari micro pellets and hold the other 2 for about 2 weeks and monitor from there.

Really it is a vicious cycle of what to feed and not to feed. If I hold back on the frozen bloodworms and brine shrimps than it is going to sit in my fridge for a longer time before it gets comsumed which gives raise to the higher possibility of the food going bad and infected with bacteria or what so ever.

the other way round is you can continue feeding them either frozen bloodworms, monitor or start off with brine shrimps then, since hikari food can keep, but the risk of poisoning will be high if you decide to go for this approach. e.g more deaths stop feeding etc..

Update:

As mysteriously the death of my fishes happen and as mysteriously the mortality stops. Have been observing the rest of my fishes they seem ok. I think this is just the way of life, some will die some will live longer. Have reduced the frequency of frozen bloodworm and brine shrimps feeding.
