    yes, i believe it is..the mandarin duck originally had an asian distribution. the english population was seeded by captive birds that had escaped/were released.

    Which might not turn out to be such a bad thing, since they're becoming endangered in their native lands, if memory serves. Ecologically speaking the population is still too small to have much on an impact on the local systems, so nothing bad there
