    Just git the following

According to the source I got from they need cool water. was packed in a box with some crushed ice when it arrived.

Guess might not really go well with the sula shrimps.

Apart from high PH, anyone has successfully kept this?

Picture of the root system... similar to some crypt?

Cool water? Hmmm.... this is getting confusing. Don't think the temperature in Malili lake can be so vastly different in two different spots right?

Any confirmation if this was from Malili lake or some other locality?

Jeff had some previously but sold to his friend. Mimbon did say that the plants from the photos of the Sulawesi expedition are Ottelia mesenterium.

IF you know that this plant is an Ottelia then i am about 90% certain that this is Ottelia mesenterium. The way the leaves look and that thick cabbage like stem sure gives it away. Apparently, these species need high light and coming from indonesia..they are not a cold water species...can survive in waters between 22-29 degrees... so singapore water should be no problem. Grows to a max of about 25cm or so.
If you are just transplanting this plant into your tank...be aware that it may take some time to "get used" to the tank...try to get your parameters as close to the natural environment they come from... they can be pretty finicky plants..

    Lots of conflicting stuff...

Thanks for all the tips.. I think its a matter of whether it acclimatise quick enough or melt away...

Hope it will be able to survive. Will split the plants I have into 2 groups.. one in low temp and the other in 28 degree water.

will see how's the result after a month.

err...it is not said that you have to store them in 28degrees water.... just that they can survive a range..so anywhere below that is good.. i guess in signapore that is considered "cold" water...haha..

Yup... anywhere around the tropics... cool water is around 28...
That's why a chiller is needed... if not you will need to air-con ur room.

Just transplanted into tank with base fert and 72 watts of light in a 2 feet. Temp at arnd 24 - 26

will try CO2 supplementation... see how it goes.

Hi. The plant grows very slow. The brown root will melted away.. And change to the new one after +- 2 months. (my exp: +-3cm roots after 2 months ).. The leaves growth is usually disturbed by lack of nutrition.. Very very difficult plant..
