    Hi Guys,

Just started my Echinodorus collection so only have a few so far and need help on ID:

    1) E. cordifolius 'Tropica Marble Queen' ? Bought from Teo's farm emersed, growing quite healthy, it is flowering soon.

    2) I need an ID on this. Bought from Teo's farm emersed, it has some problems.

    3) E. Rubin? Bought from Hanoi fishshop submersed, not growing extremely healthy too.

All comments and suggestions are welcome! Thanks.

    Regards,
    T S Wang

    Hi Experts,

Also, can anyone recognise the cause of the crinkled leaves on my 2nd echinodorus plant and give some advise on what I can do to resolve the problem? I see signs of leaf miner damages (the curvy path formed on the leaf at the extreme left below) but is this the cause for the rest of the crinkled leaves or is it some viral disease? Thanks.

    Regards,
    T S Wang

    Wang,

I thought you used to have an Emersed Echindorus Collection last time?

Anyway nice to see you back into the hobby.

    Cheers

    Hi Nicholas,

I went overseas for a project for 3 years and just came back end of last year. So during these 3 years I gave away all my aquatic plants and shut down my tank. So now I'm back in Singapore and back into emersed cultivation again and in particular Cryptcorynes and Echinodorus (again)! There are just too many species so I will have to take it slow...

    Regards,

    2) E. Rose
    3) Yes. Looks like E. rubin emersed.

The crinkled leaves does not look like calcium deficiency or pest damage. If those leave grew out while you transplant them then it is likely due to transplant shock.

    Hi,

There are alot of specimens for both type of plants. I think Midori recently has some emersed crypts for sale? Can try getting from them.

    Cheers

My E. cordifolius 'Tropica Marble Queen' has given birth, its a pity I did not managed to catch the bloom at the right time. Anyone has other species of echinodorus and is interested to trade with this tiny plantlet?

Question (sorry for the blur photographs):

I am thinking of growing Echinodorus from the seeds, should I use the seeds when they are black and fresh or should I use the seeds after they have dried up and lighter in colour?

    Black and fresh:

Dried up and lighter in colour:

    Thanks in advance.

I threw both the fresh seeds and dried seeds into a mineral bottle filled with used ADA amazonia + aficana (50%:50%) and flooded it with water till the soil level. Currently I have a mini plant growing inside the bottle which looks to me like an echinodorus, but I can't differentiate whether it grew from a fresh or dried seed
