do not crop the tail away , you need flash to fill in the lights to show details on the subject and would be better to pick a background without hotspots

Thanks for the tip but i felt that,flash might scare the damselfly away
how about this picture?However for this picture i felt it wasnt so good i think i accidentally focus the bark of the plant

you wouldn't scare it off using a flash, even if it does fly off, it will usually return to the same perch.
