At the end of April 2008, I went back to a Kerangas forest which I used to explore before. First, I was shocked that most of the forests are cleared for new oil palm plantation. Second, I couldn't believe when I noticed the Nepenthes rafflesiana in that area is different from other places! It is a rare type of a variety of N. rafflesiana which is called var. alata. It has a winged tendril.
