feel that if the fins got colour, it will look nice..
the long fins looks a bit draggy and heavy for this swift fish

Too bad that they most probably are hybrids and not natural.... well some people like the long fin some don't... but I support the anti hybrids......

    Re: Long fin neon tetra

I like these mutant/hybrids up to a point....once you go down the road of the extreme and ridiculous like say the Bubble eyed Goldfish that wobble about like deformed and drunken old men! then that's too much interference with nature....

This long fin neon looks very nice and i can see a ready market for such a fish...in fact i believe there will be more mutant/captive bred neons in the future with more red colouration or even red tails or blue tails etc...its great to see more variety but also sad if we loose what a neon is/was.....but like fancy pigeons the genetic varaibility is there and can be type bred usin artificial selection like any other man bred species..

I would love a 3 in neon with a complete red long tail and total blu body!...now that would rival any marine fish lol!

    Re: Long fin neon tetra

Just been looking at the long finned Neon Tetra, would just like to say In all my 35 years keeping fish I have never seen such an abortion as this, you have to feel for this fish, its lost all the graceful balance of the original fish and the shape of the body has no conformation with the Neon Tetra and how anyone can find this fish beautiful is beyond me.
