posted a thread sometime ago on light required for 4x2x1.5 tank (2=ht). was thinking of growing riccia, hence at 3W per gallon, I came to 288W (8x36W). Now, I seriously reconsidering NOT growing riccia. so maybe i don't need 3W per gallon. for "normal" plants, what is the usual? 2W? other than riccia, what other kind of plants needs strong lights at 3W?

    thanks

actually u still can grow riccia if u want, but like raise it towards the surface, nearer the lights u know?
like attached to tall drift wood or something?
you know... riccia doesn't 'NEED' the 3 watts per gallon, IMO they just grow better in that lighting...
why don't u check out tropica and dennerle's sites for specific plants lighting requirements?
