ADA AP-1 or AP-2?

Pellet size-wise, between ADA ap-1 and ap-2, which one would be more suitable for tetras (~3cm)? Thanks..

Both can do well.

Use AP-1 you have really small fish like the mosquito rasboras.

Hi,

I have used AP1, AP2, AP1 Gold & AP2 Gold to feed my fishes.

Bascially for tetras, you can feed either one of them.

As stated by Ben, AP2 is better as AP1 is the finest in size among the AP series.

I bascially use AP1 to feed my apisto fries and AP2 to feed my juv to adult apistos.

For fishes of the size of Cardinals or any of the tetra type of fishes, it would be better to use AP-2. AP-1 will be a tad fine.

If you are looking at the Gold series, do note that the granule size of the AP Gold series are one size smaller. Meaning AP-2 Gold size is that of AP-1 and AP-3 Gold size is that of AP-2.

Hi Ah Zhan,

with all ADA products, the actual figures are not disclosed as it is the philosophy of the company that as long as the product works, why bother of the details.

The ADA food has been created and engineered with the need to ensure that it is highly digestible so that there would not be excess waste which will in turn result in excess ammonia. To be highly digestible, the ash content must be controlled. This would give some ideas to the various content percentages.

In addition, the AP-Gold series have added taurine and higher protein and appropriate fat levels compared to the AP series.

We would believe that it is not a major component. Again, ADA manufactured the food series to be as close as possible to what would be the main diet of the different fishes they observed themselves during their annual trips to the Amazons.
