or you could try siliconing to a piece of slate? that's what i intend to do with my floating wood
i need it by today.. so i guess i have to use rocks.. silicon still need time for it to cure..

if you want to tie bogwood down just use aquarium rocks, lead weights really dont know have detrimental effects on your tank.
hi all, i haven't really do a read on toxicity of leadweights to fauna but they are commonly used not only to tie down plants but also on cucumber and other veggie cuts for plecos to chew them. So i guess it's not toxic after all since I've used them too when i keep plecos .... long term that is and no side effects.

Why don't you try fishing weights? The ones for dragging which are flat if I am not wrong. Aqua Star does fishing tackle.
