    What is this thing growing on my bogwood?

    Hi all,

    Please see the attached picture. This "plant" have been growing on this bogwood for quite a while, it is black at the base and white at the tip. It looks like riccia other than the color. I have several pieces of bogwood, but only this piece have this and it is growing at multiple location.

    could it be decaying roots? from your java fern?

    Or a new species of plant that you have cultivated If so i would like to buy some

    Maybe your 'dead' DW/BW isnt quite as 'dead' as you first thought. Looks like roots, although it could be fine leaves.

    You have an albino strand of plant somewhat Its bizarre.

    i have the same problem too! growing out of my driftwood. but its growth was greatly stunted when i removed the driftwood during a rescape session and left the driftwood dry for quite some time.

    Did you get your from a shop at Farmart? I got mine there.

    No i get most of my driftwoods from fish haven... if you want to get rid of them can try what i discovered accidentally... just dry it for a few days and scrap the dried roots off... that should do the trick... but honestly i have no idea what on earth that is...
