    Hello,

I'm toying with the idea of using a SLR for shooting landscape pictures. Up till today i got no idea which series of body should i get? I'm thinking of getting a body that can fit the EF series lenses.

    Currently looking at :

    Eos 5
    Eos 888
    Eos 1/1n

    Any recommendations?

    Cheers!

why when you already have a DSLR?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

SLR don't consume so much batteries which is very good for taking star trails at night. DSLR at most with battery grip, 3-4 hours of open shutter & it's juice is good as gone.

Yes, i still do prints even in the digital era by the 100s, the previous trip to JZG printed about 300+ & reprints for better ones.

I'm not jumping backwards to SLR just thought to have another one to play around will be nice.

    Benetay,

Come and pick up a EOS film body from me to try. Digital shooters have great difficult to go back to film. You may not light it. Try before you buy.

    Cheers,

Since i still get student rate & prints are relatively cheaper compare to non-discount members. A S8R is $5 for some whereas i got it at $2.50. Can easily print up to 20 of them at $50 while for $5 each, it'll add up to $100.

I save $50 so i think it's quite a good deal. I feel that comparing prints is far better then doing so online. YMMV.

S8R for $5? I was printing at $3, 3 years ago from kim tian and I would think that prices would be cheaper now. I don't print everything except for those I want to keep but all in S8R, only print a set of holiday photos for my gal to keep in 4R.

I haven't done a print for 3years because none of my photo since then are not up to standard

Prices cheaper now? That means i've been con again? I thought it's a very good deal at $2.50. Nowadays everything so expensive with the increase of 7% GST. Only electronic goods are falling. Didn't know about prints.

need to check with KTphoto, that is the only place I considered as good, tried a few others but the print wasn't up to expectation. I heard the one at sunset way is also recommended by people in clubsnap

It is the same with EOS film bodies. It consumes power leaving the shutter open. But maybe can last longer?

Other options are those manual-everything bodies. Nikon FM2 comes to mind. Or how about Canon FD mount cameras?

Nikon? I got no lens for Nikon. I was thinking about fixing the current lens i have on the SLR so i don't have to purchase more lens.
    Cheers!
