would like to ask, do you folks use this feature for macro work+flash? I can understand how it helps when a tripod is used but for handholding, I find the blind 'lockup' period as detrimental to getting the subject in focus as not having it, since you have to press the shutter twice in mirror lockup mode. Or am i doing it wrong?

I don't use it either. But for critical macro work it's very important. Just not quite useful for outdoors shoot in my opinion.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Yup, I would say very useful - doesn't matter for outdoor or indoor. As long as you have a tripod and your subject stay still. By the way Budak, I don't understand what you mean by macro work+flash. What are you trying to achieve again?

I would say that you only use mirror lock up during long exposure (actually I don't even do that). you can do that whether flash or not, as you might want to use flash to lit a subject while using long exposure to capture the background.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Agree! Just not quite sure what Budak is using it for so can't really suggest anything.
