Hi all, I think my Aponogeton Ulvaceus is sending 2 flowering stalks to the surface - one of them has actually reach the surface in a matter of 5 days -grown a total of 60cm - Wow! Will anyone tell me how am I suppose to pollinate the flowers to induce them into fruition? Vinz told me about using some brush - can someone enlighten me further?

I have to thanks lorba for giving me this A. Ulvaceus too. Thanks! []

Yup, vinz is right. The flower has both male and female, so you use a brush to brush the pollen all over the flower to pollinate itself. Then a few days later you will see seed appearing on the stalk. Just collect the seed and germinate it in the water or just let the seed drop into the tank and you will find baby ulvaceus in the tank soon.

Preferably the pollination should be done with another ulvaceus to avoid self pollination but it's ok to for the first few generations, i guess .

    my 2 cents,
    Joo
