I'm after a picture of a similar fish, or another image of this if at all possible. Slightly unusual reasons why.

I'm designing a tattoo and require another image of this type of fish, or alternatively a fish with similar finnage or shape?

    IMAGE: http://www.petshop-zoomania.com/CICH...ezi%20male.jpg

Truely beautiful fish which i have kept (just not long finned variety), although not my own image ofcourse.

If anyone can help with an image, or even the names of similar looking, beautiful fish please don't hesitate to blurt out a few names to me.

Appistogramma species would be an ideal choice i suppose. Anyone recommend some truely stunning Appisto's

    Angry

That is not an apisto. It is a Mikrogeophagus ramirezi.

No offence. But it looks sooo fake.

Look like a man made fish

I knew a divemaster with a beautiful tattoo of a Napolean Wrasse in a coral reef background. He was endlessly ribbed about his 'Flowerhorn'.

Funny how the masculine Betta looks nicely feminine on her back...

But seriously, how about a celtic knot design fish?
No worries about species as long as it looks like a fish too!
Maybe work two fish into a circle design.
And have the orientation of the fish verticle, otherwise people might say you piscean.
Or, worked to look like the toaist ying yang symbol.

Rather an ugly fish to have tattoed on oneself is it not? Haha.

Funnily enough Celticfish i have designed some tattoos as ideas in the stlye of fishy ying yangs I actually did one with the fish in intricate celtic knot design too. Just as soon as i saw the image of the Betta's i instantly knew i wanted something like that along my back, and thus thought of Apistogramma's. Technically the most beautiful and intricately coloured/patterned fish available to the common aquarist.

I'm since struggling to come up with a background. I want it to be good, so i'm finding small faults with anything i create currently. Seeing as though its going to be quite a permanend addition to my back

I'm so excited about it all haha, can't wait to finish it and get it implemented upon my back.

Haha people from work have told me to get a mermaid. Due to my love of a certain female member of staff at work and my love for fish. But i failed to see the funny side to it at the time

Not sure i'd want a mermaid tattoed on me though

What about the AQ logo? There is a fish shape in the logo.

true, true. One thing i love about Apistogramma's. The fact they're so readily available in most good aquarium shops, and easily shipped in. Such a beautiful fish to keep and so rewarding.

Beautifull i can't denie. But not colourful enough to wow me into having it on my back. I'm looking for the more vibrant colouration, and bold finnage. Thus the 4 i've chosen so far. Although searching "Apisto Inca" did come up with a stunningly beautiful Apisto that looked somewhat like a mature Jack Dempsey

    Okay... how about this.

Full frontal, not the full monty, of a Caca type shape.
This will show the pectoral, pelvic and dorsal nicely in five points.
Tattooed and filled in black ink.
Red facial line like the hongsloi in your picture above.
Eyes, just a hint since its a frontal shot, of yellow or your bare skin.
Pectoral done with just the skeletal bones to simulate see-through fin membrane.
Giving it a Darth Maul look.

    How about that?

PS - the caca's signature massive mouth would show nicely too.

    *drools*

Let me get this straight, side vie wof fish, or fish facing forwards? you lost me on that bit. Sounds very good. I like the idea of people who know fish to be able to identify them if possible. Whenever i have my top off near someone who is an apisto lover that is, otherwise they'll be clueless none the less.

Certainly an appealing idea, i may sketch that up, see how it looks.
