Thanks for the reminder. As long as it's not an empty tank it will be safe? Don't think the mosquito so brave to risk their life to lay eggs on top of hungry all-the-time fishes.
Just wanna remind all members about the eminent danger of breeding mosquitoes through our hobby.
Spotted 1 big fat mosquito flying around in my office this morning (very unusual sight)... possibly just laid her eggs some where. Will do a thorough clean-up right away.
THEY BREED WE BLEED

I have a question...
Do mosquitos lay eggs in shrimp tanks?
as long as your tank water surface have movement(either cause by fan or filter) its okay i guess..
Agree with bro EvolutionZ.
"Mosquitoes lay their eggs in water that is stagnant, shallow and high in organic matter. Mosquitoes complete a three-stage life cycle in the water (egg, larva and pupa) in about 4 to 14 days. As a result, standing water must remain stagnant for a minimum of 4 days in order to support the mosquito’s life cycle. Eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites is the primary control measure in reducing mosquito populations." - source from www.region.durham.on.ca
and if you have fishes in the tank just leave it,free food haha
Errr... Best still not to let them lay the eggs. Later our fish got Dengue fever how? haha
actually i have found mosquito larvae in my 1ft shrimp tank which has a strong ac fan blowing on it and also a OHF creating waves. and once i saw a mosquito landing and standing firmly on the water surface...hmmmm
when the mosquito pupae stage is over, it will break out of the pupae and stand on top of the water surface for a while. This is done so as to dry its wing.
If the water is not still or there is water movement, the wings will not dry and it will prevent the mosquito adult to fly and eventually drown.
Read it somewhere.
