    The leaf is flat.
Shape looks like a xmas tree.
Stalk like a 'tek ko', very thin but stiff.

airstern, st(or should I call you David???),

The stalk is like what airstern described, thin and hard and has 'spikes' like texture.
Leaf at the end of stalk and harder than most other plants. Holds its leaves up even out of water.
    It's not hydrofolia difformis.
Leaf is very flat and looks like flattened pine tree.
