if there's sales for like quantities of 5-10 pieces would be much more convenient
i don't like to throw livestock into my tank in large numbers
That becasue it is very cheap, you will be suprise if you know how much a bag of 50 is

haha robert, i DO KNOW how much a bag of 50 costs actually.
price is not the main concern for me la, i mean how expensive can a malayan be?
its for the convenience. 'cause if i buy 50 i will only need like maybe 10 then what do i do with the remaining 40?

They are pretty small, so 50 is not much. Some may die after you transport back.

I put my 50 pieces in 1.5x1ft tank. still look empty but I'm sure it wont be when the grow bigger.

You can try share it with other, 25 each probably just nice for 1ft tank

I got 30 pcs of Malayans yesterday at NA. Noticed quite a number of casualties today. Some of the shrimps' upper bodies were missing. Witnessed my cardinals attacking the carcasses. I suspect my cardinals are enjoying treats in live Malayans. Think Malayans can't go into my tank. Malayans tend to be small in size and perhaps being new to environment, loiter about too much in the open. My cherries are doing fine in the tank. I think I'd have to get bigger ones like Yamatoes. However, each time I introduced yamatoes into my tank, its population always dwindle to zero over a couple of weeks. Sigh..

Unless you have a lot of mosses for the shrimp to hide, else sure get eaten by fishes...

I have lots of mosses but they just won't choose to hide but come out in the open. What can I do?

Probably these Malayan shrimps are not familiar with the environment, after a while they will learn how to hide.
