Had a liking for shrimps but had tried putting different types of them in previous tanks but it never lasts.

Seen an earlier thread that most likely it is the fishes in the tank that had gobbled them up in their late supper (because we normally do not have the chance to see it). Or is it due to the tank or water conditions that had contributed to their short life span ?

So 2 major questions for advice please :

    a) what fishes can "cohabit" with Shrimps ? (let say cherry or crystal shrimps which tends to be more delicate)

    b) What water conditions or tank conditions (with planted or without) did they survive better or best ?

    thanks.......................................

It is best not to put any fishes (either small or big).

Usually, people kept their shrimps between pH 6.2 ~ pH 6.8. But if you get them from local breeder, it is best to ask your breeder the water requirement. It might varies slightly from one another.

Shrimps like to have shade and cover. This will make them more secure and will get them to mate faster.

Low light plants with small leaves are best for shrimps. They like to pick up microscopic things that settle on or stick on the leave.

Do we need to measure the KH for shrimps ?
