This was abnormal. Make sure your water pH, gH & kH are correct before you add it in your tank. Or else, the tank water will fluctuate, shrimps have to constant re-adapt to new conditions. Some shrimps might not be able to make it.
Noticed that after adding some water to top up. A couple of the shrimps will swim to the water surface, and they seemed to be skirting the brim of the water. After that they will crawl on the side of the tank and then go back to the ground. Is this normal?
Are they reacting to the water changes. I only add about 1-3% of water each day to compensate for the evaporation. Is this OK?
The water I used is from a basin of water which I filled up the day before.
Kindly advise this newbie, you veterans out there.

Oh dear! Hope the two survives.
How do i ensure that the PH is correct before I add water. A friend said to put oxygenated water instead of overnight exposed water.
Get a pH meter, less than $40 for a good enough to be use.
Make sure your overnight water is added with anti-chlorine.

Hi, I do top up my tank very often (as I'm using fan only, no chiller) and also noticed that my CRS do swim up the edge of the tank.
I noticed that the CRS are feeding with something, maybe some newly formed algae at the top edge of the tank. After about a couple of hours, the CRS will swim away and sinks to the bottom of the tank. But do be careful and don't frighten them or they will jump out of the tank.
