Anyone seen L183 Starlight Bristlenose Catfish recently?

Thanks, will drop by this to check it out.
Can anyone confirm this? I am also looking

Well, don't quite remember but I thought I saw something labelled as Ancistrus dolichopterus in Biotope. I will try to confirm if I visit again, or perhaps others can help to confirm.
Quixotic, you are right. Biotope does have some Ancistrus dolichopterus and they are quite cheap too.
Is Ancistrus dolichopterus Starlight bristlenose? I've googled it & found that common bristlenose is also labeled as Ancistrus dolichopterus + I don't remember Starlight bristlenose sold at a cheap price (unless you consider 30~40 dollars cheap).
Uhm, the link IS Ancistrus dolichopterus, isn't it?
In any case, the common name Starlight Bristlenose applies to several species. A quick check on Planet Catfish mentions 2 (L182 and L183), http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog...s.php?letter=s, although I suspect the one called Starry Night could also be mistaken as a starlight. Furthermore, a lot of Ancistrus spp. look the same, so one could be mistaken as another.
i have not seen biotope carry L183 before.. the last time i saw an ancistrus there(few mths ago), it was labeled under ancistrus dolichopterus but one look and i was sure that was an ancistrus sp3. black form juvenile. so someone should really confirm this.
and calvin, i saw L180 at polyart yesterday. it has been there for awhile.
ONLY Blue Zebras.
I didn't spend time confirming this, which is why I used the following precise word (in bold)...
A. dolichopterus has a history of being misindentified, partly due to incorrect descriptions in literature, dating back to possibly 1932. It was initially described as "Body dark blue with white dots with the dorsal and caudal fins dark blue, with white borders".
Along the way, one of the literature described the fish as "Body is brown to green brown, upper parts darker, lower side lighter". The body is also noted to have dark spots. This may have contributed, and added to the confusion.
The trade and some aquarium literature also wrongly refers L183 as A. hoplogenys, even the Baensch Atlas has been said to have mixed up between the two.

As mentioned in Planet Catfish and Scotcat, the only sure fire way to identify them is:
Most other Ancistrus species have 8 soft rays in the dorsal fin.Originally Posted by www.planetcatfish.com
Sounds like a real mystery that needs in-depth study on the scientific name of L183. Anyways I went down to AquaStar & That aquarium today. They don't have L183 but they do have to other described species of A. dolichopterus.

Oh... saved me a trip then... the fish I am looking for is the L183, they are distinguishable in that the young ones have distinctive white seams
