Hi people. Anyone have any idea where to get those lead strips used for weighing down aquatic plants. My Cabombas are growing very fast. I want to trim and plant the overgrown ones. Or are there any old posts on this. Thanks a million.

Don't use those lead strips. They are poisonous to fishes in a long run. Especially in planted tank context, the pH is most of the time towards acidic condition.

Plant them directly into the substrate.

Use a pair of tweezers and plant the stems one by one.

Lead strips are toxic to your fishes and shrimps in your tank...why would you use them if you have gravel + base fert? (unless you do not have base substrate that is...get them)

In the short term, those lead strips are not really harmful. but over the long run, it could lead to some problems of lead toxicity.

Maybe the moderators should put up the link to the vectrapoint website for newbies to have a feel how the process of planting is being carried out...especially since some of them have even planted the plants with the lead strip...not to say maybe next time even some with the high nutrient wool!!!

Yeah it would be a great help to newbies. I started out planting my plants with those yuky wool... stink like after some time. I realised when I took them out cos they were dying... realised the wool had caused the plant roots to rot!
