Over the weekend, I happen to see some deformed albino catfish sold at a LFS. These catfish have lumps (therefore their name) along their body and their shape is not streamline but zig-zag. Reminds me of links of mini-sausages.

    Not a good sighting.

    Anyone seen them too?

    Yes! Saw it at Yishun..

Very disgusted by those selling it, and even more disgusted by those who created it!

According to the LFS owner, these came from Thailand. I hope the good people from the local fish farms do think before bringing in fish of these nature. It also gives Singapore (as a leading Fish Exporter) a bad name.

4D tatoo molly is still somehow accpectable.. but the deformed catfish is really too much.. looking at how they swim, really breaks my heart.. i noticed they swim up half way and will sink to the bottom.. just like a dead fish...

if the fish does not look the way it is supposed to... it's downright unacceptable.

Being a successful LFS, the general health of your fishes is quite important.

LFS here are just selling and they are not the ones that creates these species so maybe a little difficult to sue. As for the creators, they are in Thailand so the local authority should do something about.

well if you feel this strongly about deformed fishes, then do inform your friends about those parrot fishes. they are deformed due to genetic failure but many people do not know.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
