    How to speed up breeding?

I have a 35cmx18cm tank. Just normal gravel and java moss and fern. One internal filter and one hanging filter. No CO2, no fertilizer. Air-con 8am to 8pm at about 24 degrees Celcius (Office - hehe). I keep cost low, just buy shrimp food. Didn't bother with nitrate, nitrite, ammonia testing. Too complicated for me.

Kept Grade B and C CRS shrimps for about 1.5 years. Only changed water every 6 months, everyday top up for evaporation. Managed to have 3 cycles of breeding for those shrimps.

Last month, got rid of all the Bs and Cs (bought some after fumigation killed all) and just started with Grade A-S. No sign of pregnant shrimps yet. Following the same routine as what I did with B and Cs. It's been 3 weeks since I have the A-S graders. All survived. They are eating well but no sign of any shrimp pregnant. They are all matured sizes about 1.5-1.8cm. But no pregnant shrimps. Come to think of it, they all look like female to me. Really can't tell.

Any suggestions how to get these A graders to propagate are welcome.

Anyone can help ID the gender of the shrimps? Just need let me know whether they are all ladies, or there are both genders in this brood.

    More Pics

Have added more pictures below. To show the tank and some better close ups of the shrimp. Anyone who can at least tell me whether there are both male and female shrimps in the pictures, I am more than happy. I just have to wait for them to be in the right mood. Haha

I reckon the key thing is patience. As you only have these shrimps for about 1month, i believe they are still adapting to the environment.
From my experience, they will take about minimum 2 to 3 months to settle down before start to spawn. Of course you need to take care of other parameter such as temperature, water conditions and food.

I think you are right..I will wait for a couple of months. The last time my Bs and Cs took 2-3mths too.

Here are more pictures of my no-frill low cost tank.

    Cheers!
