watercaterpillars! kewl!!!
lets see water butterflies!!! way kewl!!! [] []
sorry! cant help...
Any of you can enlighten me on this?
I found a few "caterpillar-like" worms in my tank today..... wrapped up in a leaf cocoon.....just like their garden counterparts but underwater. And they have spikey hair just like their normal counterparts.
I took out 3 of them and kept the last one for "research"......
Anyone had any experience with this?...... seems gross and they seem to be eating on my plants

Yes I have seen them before... they used to cocoon themselves in the leaves of my microsorum plant... well I've got good news and bad news... the good news is these guys propagate really slowly, and are really obvious once they cocoon themselves... so the easiest way to get rid of them is to physically remove every one you see... I did that and within a week of careful watching, they never resurfaced... that was some 1 year ago.
The bad news is that I also kept a few for "scientific purposes"... and you know something... you're not gonna get any water butterflies
