Anyone seen these being sold anywhere? I'm looking for those with bright yello bands, not dark, almost black bands. Rainbow used to have them for $1 each... but have since ran out of stock or all died on them.

    What about other Goby species?

What's the diff? It's either yellow on black or black on yellow. I have seen gobies at Bubblefish Aquarium off Ang mo kio ave 3 and 10. call them 64578385 to check.

Well, some of the yellow bands are so dark, its almost black... so you got a black goby with almost-black yellow bands.

Thanks for the tip off, I'll call them tomorrow.[]

there's more than one species of bumblebee goby for sale in the shops. the more commonly sold ones would be brachygobius doriae, aggregatus, nunus and xanthozonus. some species are darker than the others. some have more spots. our native bumblebee species is b. xanthomelas. it's more spotted than the other bees.

The following links are to sites with info on how to keep and breed bumblebee gobies.

they might not survive that long after u've gone pubbing anyway, there's another species of goby for sale in some shops - knight goby (Stigmatogobius sadanundio). quite big, greyish in colour with white spots and a raised dorsal fin that has a black blotch.

they're not commonly offer for sale. another one of the goby's cousin is the peacock gudgeon, forgot the scientific name but it's rather colourful. c328 still has some for sale though they're not the best of shape.
