    Hi green,
Yes these fish do eat many kind of algae and sometimes your plants as well. But it wont be damaging.
I saw a tank full of flag fish at B/328 Clementi Ave 2. Might want to make a trip there.

So far the AFF has been quite cooperative, almost a bit shy. It seems to be afraid of my shrimps. Let's see how it goes.

I have 10 rosy barbs in my tank. One of them is about 5 years old! They do eat algae but I pamper them so thay are all fat and lazy.

Is still new environment to AFF. Once he's familiar and hungry he will shown his true color, but if he's well fed then should ok. Oh... AFF ate almost all my Amazon frogbit roots.

I first heard about American Flag Fish in a western planted tank forum a couple of years ago. I was surprised that C328 was selling it at that time. Although the aunty didnt know the actual name of AFF, I showed her the picture printed from the forum. There are distinctive marks near the tail.

I tried AFF for about 3 times with 3 separate batches. None of them worked for my tank They just hide in the plants and I had never seen them nibbled on algae. Maybe it just happened to me only
