anybody try growing elatine on top of large drift wood.
Do you think elatine can thrive growing on drift wood instead of gravel?

Was thinking thru what is appropriate for plants growing on large drift wood.

Riccia is ideal, but I can't afford the maintenance

java moss is too dark green for my liking.

Anyone has good suggestion for nice bright green plants on driftwood?

Another thing, is putting acryllic the best way to do landscape separation, have anyone tried other ways?

i have seen some of samyick's tanks using acryllic to do separation but what they did was to use silicon to stick a whole layer of gravel onto the acryllic to camouflage it... the effect is pretty neat... worth a try...

I did it on my 2 ft tank (see the My Tank pix). Didn't really tie, but just inserted bits of elatine within the cracks and they quickly (about 2 weeks) took over the wood. YOu just need to prune them down regularly.

What a coincidence... just did that today (APP on wood). Have seen it done here and there, mainly by Ah-Pek at Capricorne plant farm.

Occured to me today that they do not cling, or at least I don't think so. So if the bottoms rot off, the rest of the plant will float off. Budak, do they cling?

Another way to terrace is to use drift wood.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

The roots somehow get a grip, but you need to prune them regularly or the lower stems will melt from lack of light. They will then quickly regrow.

From a precious commodity to just a commodity - that's the APP. Anyway, anyone wants more of this weed? Please PM me and collection for weekday is Monday night ONLY at Ang Mo Kio Ave 10.
